Frocks on Bikes

Frocks On Bikes was formed in New Zealand, in the lead up to the 350 Climate Action festivals being held in Auckland and Wellington in December 2008.

Frocks on Bikes is building momentum to turn Auckland into a cycle -friendly city by showing that cycling can be a safe, viable and even stylish transport option. In addition, all Aucklanders benefit from increased cycling with improved health and fitness, lower petrol bills, less traffic congestion, less road maintenance, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

The group has continued to grow by demonstrating that it is not necessary to wear sports clothes or lycra – it is possible to look stylish and even glamorous  on a bicycle.

I coordinated Frocks on Bikes (Auckland) together with Jenny Marshall (a.k.a. Unity Finesmith of Auckland Cycle Chic) from 2009 until 2013ish. Frocks on Bikes is supported by Bike Auckland and  350 Aotearoa.
